Hello All, Happy New Year to you and yours! I’m happy to report a most rewarding holiday season was had on our end, complete with merriment and joy, for both family and friends. Entering January, my discovery of Edith Piaf was shell shocking, as has been the ongoing shenanigans of the American Presidential Primary Season. On the label scene, artist related activities are about to pick up in earnest.

Most immediately, Alex Dupree and the Trapdoor Band will set out on tour with fellow Austinites, Balmorhea. The trip will take them from Austin to the northeast, and back thru the Midwest. Check the Tour section for details.

Zookeeper will also be hitting the road, although not until after the SXSW festival in March, where he will be performing multiple shows. Look for an April/May tour with the possibility of a new EP in the late spring.

House and Parish continue work on their debut album following a highly successful tour supporting the Weakerthans throughout Europe.

And SWISS, yes that SWISS, makes a most welcome return January 24 at Emo’s Lounge in Austin, TX. It will be SWISS’s first outing since last year’s sensational New Year’s Eve bludgeoning of the Beauty Bar. The current lineup features members of Zookeeper, Sad Accordions, Zykos, House & Parish and Capitol City upstarts, Sporthog.

Hello All, Triple Double excited to report that the release date of Zookeeper’s debut LP, “Becoming All Things” is now only one week away.  It hits stores nationwide November 6th!  Equally exciting, House and Parish’s debut EP, “One-One Thousand”, will be available a week later on November 13th.

Pre-Orders for both albums are being taken immediately to your right -> -> ->

Important to note, Boston-based Newbury Comics is hosting a pre-sale which will reward the first 200 buyers with a signed copy of the “Becoming All Things” album sleeve.

Zookeeper just finished a month long tour in support of the new album criss-crossing the Lower 48 and enlightening cities from Portland to San Diego, Atlanta and Omaha and everywhere in between.  A Release Party is scheduled for Austin, TX on November 3rd at The Parish, to be followed a few weeks later by a tour of the Northeast and Midwest.  Rounding out the Zookeeper band for these shows are Alex Dupree of the Trapdoor Band fame, Seth Woods and Ben Lance of Sad Accordion genious. And Kevin Bybee, relentless timekeeper for Zykos.

House and Parish’s debut recording is a split release between Portland’s Arena Rock Recording Company and Belle City Pop!  The band will play 2 NYC shows the week preceding the record’s release at Piano's and Union Hall respectfully, to be followed by a European tour playing support to the much adored and justly respected Weakerthans.

That’s it for now.  Enjoy your Holiday Season.

And as always, thank you kindly,

Bellecitypop!
